The Program

Our program is based on applying the core elements of fitness in a comprehensive fitness pogram to everyday life experiences.
The foundation of our program starts in the fitness center. We tailor our overall exercise program to enhance the key components of building and enhancing:
* Strength * Balance * Flexibility * Endurance * Mental Health * Nutrition
These then become the building blocks to pursue the various activites in our program.
All our exercises focus on "Functional Movement" designed to match our activities...
Striving for gradual improvements in all the above areas and focusing always on proper form e then carry this forward by incorporating the immediate gains of our program while utilizing learned “form” in everyday fun activities.
Below you can review the current activities that our program focuses on to realize, experience and enjoy your new found and well earned fitness benefits from our program.
Remember always that your Life Boost fitness trainer will always be observing and correcting your form in all “fun activities” that you participate in.
When starting our program remember we are not about losing weight. The loss of weight will be a by-product of your efforts. We believe in what we call the “10 Commandments of Exercise” and what our exercise program will provide:
1. Exercise builds brainpower through increasing serotonin in the brain which in turn creates mental clarity.
2. Exercise melts away stress.
3. Exercise builds energy which then helps improve daily activities.
4. Exercise should focus on “fun” by employing it in your daily routines and activities.
5. Exercise helps to build relationships with your significant other or friends and or family.
6. Exercise helps ward off disease from heart problems to diabetes.
7. Exercise pumps up your heart muscle and cardiovascular system.
8. Exercise lets you eat more and our Mediterranean diet has plenty of well earned healthy comfort foods.
9. Exercise boosts performance and with consistent exercise you will increase flexibility and strengthen muscles.
10. Exercise with our program will increases levels of function, provide more energy and reduce stress.




It all starts in the fitness room. All exercises work in concert with all activities listed below. All our exercises are designed to emulate the movements of these activities. When you click on "Learn More" of this section you will see how some of the exercises correlate with the movements in Cycling....Hiking....Swimming Exercises ....Dancing ....Walking .... and Bowling....! By strengthening all muscles groups with the simulated movements of the body in these exercises your performance in these activities will be significantly enhanced. The form....strength....flexibility.... and balance improvements will result in more confidence and the overall "good feeling" sensations associated with excellent performance and achievement.

Cycling is an excellent cardio and strength building activity that provides many benefits to overall health. Starting with the heart ....cycling provides benefits in the reduction of heart disease. Cycling is great for the muscles especially the lower body half where benefit to the calves, thighs and bum. It is a great low impact exercise for the joints. Studies have indicated that cycling increases life-years. Cycling is a great exercise for increasing cooridnation and balance by moving both feet and hands in coordination of balancing your own body weight. Cycling has been linked to an improvement in mental health while at the same time improving and stregthening your immune system aiding in the protection of certain kinds of cancer.

Hiking exercises almost every part of your body: legs, knees, ankles, arms, hips and butt, abdominals, shoulders and neck. Hiking exercises your body and your mind, and nourishes your imagination, It creates awareness in your eyes and ears and the rest of your senses. You don’t have to be in perfect shape to start. Even if you are overweight, getting physical can lead to health benefits. Hiking is a great way to start exercising. Start with easy hikes and work up to steeper hikes that work your legs more.


The main advantage of exercising in water is that it offers resistance in all directions, compared to land exercises where you work only against gravity. Because of the cushioning effect that water provides, this form of exercise is particularly beneficial to anyone at risk from bodily stress, including the elderly, overweight, or those recovering from soft tissue injury.
Dancing is another excellent cross training cardio exercise providing 9 essential benefits. Dancing helps to boost memory according to the The New Englsnd Journal of Medicine and may prevent you from developing dimentia. Dancing improves flexibilty and reduces stiffness. Dancing reduces stress and dimishes depression. Dancing is great for heart health while improving breathing and endurance. Dancing is an excellent exercise to help reduce weight while putting a smile on your face. According to the Journal of Aging and Physical Acitivity dancing improves balance and good posture. Energy levels increase when participating in an ongoing dancing program. Dancing leads to increased happiness, reduced stress and a stronger immune system while while being a great social activity.

Walking is an excellent cross training cardio exercise that provides and adds 8 healthy benefits to your program. Walking strengthens your heart. It reduces the risk of heart disease that causes stroke. It lowers levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol while increasing levels of HDL (good cholesterol). Walking 30 minutes a day helps to prevent and control high blood pressure that causes stroke by 27% . Walking also lowers the disease risk of type 2 diabetes by 60%....and 20% less likely to develop cancer of the colon, breast, or womb. Walking helps you lose weight. Walking tones up legs, bums and tums. Vitamin D is boosted by walking while providing an excellent source of energy.....and of course it makes you happy releasing good endophins while reducing stress and anxiety.

Bowling is an excellent overall exercise program. Bowling promotes muscle toning and strength building. It is a perfect exercise to improve balance and flexibility aiding in weight lost and control. Bowling helps to reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes while increasing bone density, improvement in blood circulation, lowers cholesterol levels and blood pressure while causing the body to better utilize oxygen. Bowling is an excellent stress reliever while providing an overall benefit to a healthy heart. The additional benefit of eye-hand coordination while enhancing sharpened motor skills is realized with an ongoing additon of bowling to your exercise program.

Parkinson's & Alzeheimer's diseases respond very weel to exercise. Exercise is an important part of healthy living for everyone. For people with Parkinson’s disease (PD), exercise is more than healthy — it is a vital component to maintaining balance, mobility and activities of daily living. Exercise and physical activity can improve many PD symptoms. These benefits are supported by research.
The Parkinson’s Outcomes Project shows that people with PD who start exercising earlier and a minimum of 2.5 hours a week, experience a slowed decline in quality of life compared to those who start later. Establishing early exercise habits is essential to overall disease management.
A proof-of-concept brain imaging study suggests that exercising four or five times a week may delay the progression of Alzheimer's disease in people who already have toxic buildups of beta-amyloid protein.
