The five core beliefs that establish the foundation of our program are geared toward bringing you along at a comfortable pace while at the same time adding an element of fun with a diverse set of activities.

It should be noted here that although our program is focused on fitness disciplines it also places a large portion on activities that further enhances your gains from the fitness room.

Our program is geared more to establishing overall health both physically and mentally as oppsoed to developing six-pack abs . We do not believe in the axiom of "no pain-no gain".

We will take the extra time to slowly develop an overall healthy body and mind.  Your fitness room time will be designed for you and your level of fitness.

However, activities which will further develop motor skills will be done at a pace where we will leave no one behind. In time all will be performing at similar levels of ability striving once again for the element of "fun".

Our Core Beliefs

           FLEXIBILITY TRAINING

Flexibility exercises stretch your muscles and can help your body stay flexible. These exercises may not improve your endurance or strength, but being flexible gives you more freedom of movement for other exercise as well as for your everyday activities. The best time to do flexibility exercises is when your muscles are already warm so they can stretch farther without tightness or pain. We'll show you when and how!

           ENDURANCE TRAINING

Endurance, or aerobic, activities increase your breathing and heart rate. They keep your heart, lungs, and circulatory system healthy and improve your overall fitness. Building your endurance makes it easier to carry out many of your everyday activities.

  • Brisk walking or jogging

  • Yard work (mowing, raking, digging)

  • Dancing

           STRENGTH TRAINING

Strength exercises make your muscles stronger. Even small increases in strength can make a big difference in your ability to stay independent and carry out everyday activities, such as climbing stairs and carrying groceries. These exercises also are called "strength training" or "resistance training."

  • Lifting weights

  • Using a resistance band

  • Using your own body weight

           BALANCE TRAINING

Balance exercises help prevent falls, a common problem in older adults. Many lower-body strength exercises also will improve your balance.

*Standing on one foot

*Heel-to-toe walk

*Tai Chi/Yoga

           MIND TRAINING

The human brain benefits from both physical and mental exercise. Physical exercise helps the brain by improving circulation and memory, and balance, coordination and reflexes are all improved with exercise. Mental exercise can help the brain by building new neural connections, boosting memory and offsetting the debilitating effects of age and disease.

           NUTRITION

The Mediterranean Diet has certain types and amounts of food. If eaten for a number of years, it has been shown to reduce the risks of developing heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure (hypertension), type 2 diabetes, Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. Following the diet has also been linked with a reduced risk of early death and has proved a successful strategy for healthy weight reduction.
